This one is from the sonic time capsule,
in 2017 I unearthed a few boxes of my 3.5in floppy disk and my Akai MPC 60II, I decided to re explore some of my old samples found on the disk and make a beat tape using the MPC 60II, and my 6u Modular Synth.
This is the first on a 3 part beat tape series, this one relies heavy on chopping and flipping samples from vinyl, mixed with thunderous bass and psychedelic sounds from the analog modular synth and Arturia Microbrute.

Bio
Shiro Fujioka aka Voltage CTRLR is a hip-hop producer and frequency healer based in So-Cal who is credited with the first ModBap release on vinyl and digital before the phrase was coined. His Release “Switched on Beats” was inspired by the Switched On Bach and Switched On Rock albums that were made with a Moog modular synthesizer back in the 60s. Given that Shiro's humble beginnings in making music all started with an Akai MPC 60II sampler that he acquired in the 90's. Eventually, his passions spilled into modular synthesis with the marriage of hip-hop production and synthesis.
